Individual therapy : Young Adults & Adults

Individual therapy for young adults and adults

I am a chartered Counselling Psychologist specialising in helping others work through emotional and psychological issues – particularly those surrounding emotional difficulties, relationships, family, or work. Everyone’s situation is unique, and I am trained in a wide range of therapeutic techniques and approaches to help you better identify, understand and resolve your problems. For me, the ultimate aim of therapy is not just to provide temporary relief but help you develop new skills and ways of thinking that will enable you to flourish and move forward.

My process starts with a questionnaire, which helps me direct where we should start our work. This is a collaborative exercise, and you will be free to ask questions and progress at the most comfortable pace. Our space will be warm, compassionate and non-judgmental. Therapy starts when you feel seen and heard, so it is incredibly important to me that I build a solid therapeutic relationship with all my clients.

Talking helps us focus on what has happened rather than what is wrong with us. We look at how you can process and express your emotions in a secure and encouraging relationship. You can discover new coping mechanisms and better understand your issues through counselling.

Our working relationship will last as long as you feel you need it to and/or your goals for coming to therapy, and I will never put you under pressure to stop or continue. You will guide the therapeutic process. In terms of the length of the therapeutic process, we can decide together, or you may feel you no longer need my assistance.
